The brief
The brief was to create an ultra high-end luxury kitchen that felt completely bespoke, beautifully detailed and perfectly suited to the scale of the space. With generous ceiling heights and an architectural interior, the kitchen needed to have real presence while still feeling warm, elegant and comfortable to live with.
The clients wanted a layered, design-led scheme using two different paint-to-order colours, with natural stone as the defining feature. Taj Mahal Quartzite was chosen for its soft movement, warm tones and timeless luxury, and the brief was to use it in a way that went far beyond standard worktops.
Functionally, the kitchen needed to deliver exceptional storage, premium integrated appliances, a dedicated breakfast station and a sociable island that would work equally well for everyday use and entertaining. Every element needed to feel considered, from the custom-height cabinetry to the smallest stone detail.
The design
The design uses two carefully selected paint-to-order colours to create depth, contrast and balance across the kitchen. The tall cabinetry has been designed at a custom height to suit the proportions of the room, giving the scheme a strong architectural feel while maximising storage.
Taj Mahal Quartzite is the standout material throughout the kitchen. The island is clad on three sides in the stone, creating a sculptural centrepiece with a beautifully monolithic appearance. The same quartzite continues across the worktops and splashback areas, tying the whole design together with a soft, natural elegance.
The island was designed as both a practical working zone and a luxury entertaining space. It includes a Taj Mahal-clad champagne trough, creating a striking feature for hosting while keeping the finish completely consistent with the rest of the stonework. The sink area was also clad in Taj Mahal Quartzite, giving a highly tailored, seamless look and turning a functional detail into a feature in its own right.
A pocket door breakfast station was incorporated into the tall cabinetry, allowing everyday items, small appliances and breakfast essentials to be concealed when not in use. When opened, it reveals a beautifully organised working area that is easy to access but hidden away when the kitchen needs to feel calm and uncluttered.
The appliance specification reinforces the luxury feel of the space. An integrated Gaggenau French door fridge freezer sits seamlessly within the cabinetry, offering generous capacity and high-performance cooling without interrupting the design. Siemens studioLine ovens provide a sleek, refined cooking zone with the professional finish expected in a kitchen of this level.
How it worked out
The finished kitchen is a highly bespoke, ultra-luxury space with a strong sense of craftsmanship. The two paint-to-order colours give the design richness and individuality, while the custom-height cabinetry makes the most of the room’s impressive proportions.
The Taj Mahal Quartzite brings the entire kitchen together. Used across the island, worktops, sink, champagne trough and splashback areas, it creates a beautifully cohesive scheme with warmth, texture and natural movement. The three-sided stone-clad island is the centrepiece of the room, giving the kitchen a statement feel without overpowering the space.
The pocket door breakfast station keeps daily routines effortless and discreet, while the premium appliance package ensures the kitchen performs as well as it looks. The result is a calm, elegant and exceptionally detailed kitchen that feels luxurious, practical and completely one-of-a-kind.
