The Brief
Having seen one of our kitchens being installed at their neighbours, our clients came to us looking for a new contemporary kitchen layout that maximized the storage, without taking up more space within the open plan layout of their house.
The kitchen needed to have the wow factor to fit into the beautifully deigned house. They wanted cabinetry with discreet handles and quartz worktops. Also on the list were integrated appliances such a siemens oven, a combi micro oven, Elica induction hob with integrated extraction and weighing scales, and a dishwasher. Storage was an important factor in this kitchen so adding a pull out larder and housing a Fisher and Paykel fridge freezer was a must.
The Design
The layout was to replace the existing kitchen in a large light and bright open plan room. The clients spent a lot of time talking to us about the textures and colours they wanted. Quite rightly they wanted it to be perfect so it was important to spend extra time on this part of the design. The clients also had a really good eye for design and details so it was great fun working with them.
The cabinetry is matt graphite and vintage oak and the beautiful worktop is Caesarstone cloudburst concrete. Choosing the right colour for your kitchen is important for the aesthetic value and can make the space look brighter and more prominent.
The room has lots of natural light coming through so adding dark cabinetry really adds a depth to the room and the vintage oak brings warmth. The peninsula island was to come off the wall with seating for three and this run of cabinetry was to be all drawers to maximize storage space. All the extras were added to this kitchen to bring it all together such as the Quooker boiling tap, pull out bins, breakfast bar, led lighting , open shelves and elegant stainless steel handles.
How it worked out
This matt graphite kitchen project was a great success and the clients are really happy with their new kitchen. The kitchen is not only beautiful to look at, it is made from high end materials and was planned exactly how our clients wanted it to be. The overall effect is a great kitchen with a high degree of functionality with lots of well designed storage space. It was a pleasure to go back at photograph the kitchen and see all the accessories and finishing touches they had added.
What our clients said
From the very beginning the team at Black Rok held our hand at every step of our journey. At no point did they pressurise us us into buying their products or services. We both felt that we were valued customers. Each and every time we honed our design they made that process uncomplicated and accommodated our needs. We felt comfortable that nothing was too much for them to help us. Both their design and installation service is exemplary. We would have no hesitation in recommending Black Rok to other interested parties. Suffice to say we have a fantastic new Kitchen and we are very happy with it.
