The Brief
Our clients came into our showroom looking to completely update their twelve year old kitchen. They wanted to incorporate an induction range cooker, an American style fridge and an island to replace the kitchen table that they currently had. The island was to be finished in a different colour to the main units and they settled on a beautiful Matt Graphite lacquer.
A Graphite and Taupe Kitchen Design
The final colour scheme was Taupe lacquer on the main bulk of the units with a contrasting Matt Graphite for the island. The worktops are 30mm Calacutta Quartz, polished to a beautiful sheen and really lighting up the room, the splashbacks are finished in Vintage Oak panelling. The kitchen includes an American fridge freezer, Induction range cooker, Siemens oven, Quooker tap, wine cooler, dishwasher and seating on the island for four.
We also designed and built some extra storage and display shelves in the adjacent dining room to make use of an awkward corner in the same colour scheme as the kitchen.
The main part of the kitchen was a relatively simple layout with an L-shape kitchen around the outside and an island in the middle. The cabinetry needed to house the American fridge freezer so we built units around this adding in plenty of storage.
How it worked out
The kitchen works very well practically as well as socially; it makes the space a highly useable area for cooking, socialising and spending time as a family. This kitchen was a great success, not only does this room look great the functionality and layout of this kitchen work brilliantly. Our client loves the way the kitchen looks and just as importantly the way it works.
The overall effect is a beautiful kitchen with a generous amount of storage and a high degree of functionality.
