Christmas break
We will be closing for Christmas on Friday 18th December
Re-opening on Monday 4th January 2021
What a year it has been with the coronavirus pandemic, I am looking forward to celebrating Christmas and planning for the new year and hoping it’s going to be a good one. Now with the go-ahead of families being able to celebrate together for Christmas, we can all start planning. For some of us, the pandemic may of meant we had more time at home than usual. Lots of people have said they enjoyed baking and cooking more from scratch.
Christmas is all about overindulging on our favourite foods. So make sure you put your new skills to practice and enjoy making lots of different foods that your family and friends will really enjoy. We definitely need some yummy food to cheer us all up this year, that’s for sure! Some of my favourite things I have been making are cheese straws, sticky toffee pudding, chocolate brownies and of course, mince pies. You can find some of our favourite Christmas recipes on our Black Rok Pinterest page.

If you have been lucky enough to get a new kitchen this year and its your first Christmas celebrating in it, then it’s key to make sure you really put your Christmas kitchen decoration ideas and inspiration into place. It is tradition all around the world to celebrate Christmas. This is the time of year we decorate our homes, especially in the kitchen and dining areas, where the whole family will be having its Christmas dinner. This year families and friends have been separated far too long and have really missed loved ones so make sure you have a wonderful Christmas with great memories and stay safe.
These are a few things I will be using to decorate my kitchen this year.
A poinsettia brightens up a kitchen with its beautiful red leaves that flower in December and January. This plant originates from Mexico and millions of these are sold every year in the UK. These plants can be found in most local supermarkets.
Twinkling fairy lights over fireplaces, open shelving and across cabinets will create a festive atmosphere during the evening.
Also mixing it up with all of some these will really brighten up your kitchen, a Christmas tree, wreath, candles, and baubles will all add beautiful touches to your kitchen.
Another thing to remember is, if you are on a budget you can use your crafting skills to create some beautiful decorations. Outside in the countryside, you will find a variety of sticks, pine cones and leaves to make some amazing Christmas creations.
Make sure your pantry is well stocked over the Christmas period. Pantries are a brilliant addition to your kitchen adding lots of space for storage and great organisation. Also, it can be closed up giving you that tidy and sleek look.
We hope you have a lovely Christmas.
