Matt Black and Vintage Oak
In contrast to expectation, the dark colour schemes currently on-trend are surprisingly subtle in the way they occupy a space. Our Black display is a good example of this, in part subtle and brooding, what really strikes you is how warm and welcoming it feels.
The satin finish to cabinets coupled with a matt black handle sets a background for the warmth of the wooden fronted wall units. Using light and shade has long between a big part of interior design, dark colours can of course be dramatic but they can also shrink into the shadows to allow certain features to really stand out.
In our showroom display, we’ve added three key details; first is the marble effect glass splashback behind the sink. A touch of glamour perhaps and by no means to everyone’s taste, but the design shows how the cabinets can act to frame a certain, unique feature.
Second is the Ceasarstone Vanilla Noir quartz. This beautiful worktop inverts the classic white veined marble by using a dark base with a lighter vein running through it.
The final key feature is the LED glass lit roller shutter unit. The black tinted glass slats allowing for just the most subtle glimpse of the lighting inside.
Handle-less Satin White with Sand Oak
Without doubt the handle-less satin white kitchen has become a modern classic within the world of interior design. It oozes understated elegance whilst never compromising on either style or substance. This display has been an integral part of Black Rok, ever since we began over 9 years ago it’s been our greatest success. More than anything it’s a reflection of what we do best, low key, subtle design that never compromises on delivering timeless functionality.
The sand oak and LED lighting add a touch of warmth and glamour, lifting this display from the ordinary to something that works in so many settings. Handle-less cabinetry is no longer a new phenomenon, indeed for us it is very much the norm, but it allows for a design framework that embraces warmth, texture and light as the key drivers.
True handle-less cabinetry is built in a different way to normal handled cabinets. The aluminium channel detail is not only a key visual detail but it is integral to the way these kitchens work, allowing for touch-free operation. You literally never touch the fronts, units are opened by pulling from the back edge. As simple as it is intuitive.
Satin Taupe and Airy Concrete
A fun interplay between the different finishes and levels makes this quite an intricate display. The island is made up using concrete effect laminates with a floating quartz concrete sink section.
This theme continues to the breakfast bar and hob run where we have used 80mm concrete effect laminate to create an elevated dining area.
The wall run uses matt Taupe cabinetry with our ever-popular stainless steel longline handle which, made onto the doors, gives a real feeling of quality. As an accent, we have used Silk grey oak, for details like the open shelf on the island and back panel behind the main run of units. Once again, this adds warmth and texture and contrasts nicely to the concrete finishes.
High Gloss Taupe Handle-less
Using high gloss cabinetry with Marble effect quartz worktops the brief for this display was to limit both space and budget. It takes the shape of a classic L-shaped kitchen and whilst it’s a simple design it works nicely to show what’s possible with smaller kitchens.
Using Midi height tall units allows your eye to see further which helps to enhance the feeling of space. At the same time they provide a little extra visual interest, with some sand oak detailing adding warmth and texture.
The marble effect quartz worktop, shown here in 30mm thickness, adds a touch of glamour. Working very nicely with the taupe cabinetry, it’s a very subtle yet elegant combination. And for a final flourish we added some LED channel lighting… small but perfectly formed!
